Central Iowa baby photographer -- Hayden turns 3 mos.

Hayden and his family are so fun to photograph. Mom's upbeat personality and the family's all around relaxed approach to life is refreshing and contagious. Their youngest, baby Hayden, recently turned three months. You first met Hayden in mom's belly and then as a newborn here.

At this session, I started out with warming up my camera and big sis and brother with some goofy faces. Not sure this on is gonna go on the wall in their family room but is sure does show how big brother has this face down. ;)
Then baby Hayden was happy enough for a moment to sit with his sister and brother.

Switching things up and all decked out in black and gold for Hayden's big family picture.

And by the end, Hayden was enjoying the spotlight, no more crying was taking place and he was interested in my camera. Just look at those cute full lips.

And we got lots more different shots of baby Hayden but mom and dad, you'll have to wait for your CD to check them out. ;)

A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E -- Central Iowa Child Photographer

I love watching the babies on my birth to one year package grow... It's one of the favorite parts of my job. You first met baby Vivi here on my blog for her 3 month photos. Now she is nearly 7 months and is just adorable as the first time I photographed her. We took some shots in her nursery which is amazingly beautiful and then headed downstairs for some more looks. I could have stayed at baby Vivi's house all day long with my camera. Her parents have the best eye for decorating their home. They are so creative in what they've done with each room in their house. They actually have a silver wall in their family room area....yes, silver. So one-of-a-kind and so awesome!

Baby Vivi in her nursery....

This one is for you mom :) Your little laid back relaxer...

Ahhh, I just love when babies find their toes and play with them at this age....

The mix and match of art pieces in Vivi's room looked great. You can't see it that well but the large framed art piece on the left is created from a local artist. I asked mom for the link for myself and thought I would share it with you as well. This would make a great gift for someone and even better yet, something new and fresh for your home this spring. You can check it out here on Etsy... thepcpress.etsy.com

And because I can't decide if I like this image in black and white or color, I'm showing you both before signing off. Thanks for stopping by the DKA blog.

My spring birthday babies

Spring is a special time in the Arringdale house...we have lots to celebrate. First up is Addison's birthday and she will be turning 4 this year. 4! I know, I say it every year, but she is getting so big and I can't believe she is going to be 4! I wonder at what age I'll stop saying this, if ever?

Then three weeks later our baby turns 2. And this means our deadline has arrived to cut her off of her binkie or as she calls it "her ni night." If any of you reading my blog have any tips on how to make this transition smoother for the first few days, give me a holler. I think it's going to be equally hard on us as it will be for Kensi. It's been so easy to pop her binkie in her mouth when she is fussy and asking for it over the past two years.

We also have our 6 year wedding anniversary, Chris' birthday and DKA Photography's official 2 year anniversary to celebrate. Lots of fun times.

And what fun would a post be without pictures? So I thought I would share a few from this past weekend of my spring birthday babies. The girls are having a flower-theme birthday party so we headed out with flowers to take photos celebrating turning 2 and 4.

Bows, pearls and more... - Central Iowa Children's Photographer

Seriously, does it get much cuter than a baby girl with a cute hat, beautiful bow, pretty necklace, fun tutu and decked out in pink and purple...I think not.

Enjoy your sneak peak mom and dad. Your baby girl was a blast to photography. Her smiles and fun personality are just beautiful.

Seriously....

What a cute little stud! I could have hung out with Baby G all day snapping pictures of him and his bashful smiles. He's such a sweet heart and made my Saturday work a breeze. That's why I'm showcasing so many images from his session. There are a TON of cute ones so I just couldn't decide what few were my favorite for posting.

I'm looking forward to getting to hang out with him again. Baby G is part of my First Year Baby plan so be prepared to see more of this cute little stud in the months ahead.

Happy 1/2 year birthday Baby G.

Moving and grooving already - Central Iowa newborn photographer

Hopefully everyone had a good weekend and hopefully this was our last weekend of snow in the Midwest. My husband and I and eight other couples spent our weekend in Kansas City for our second annual mini-adult get-a-way. I loved getting away with Chris and so many of my best friends, but I was definitely ready to see my two babies today. I was only gone one night, but I feel like Addison grew 2 inches overnight. Now I know what their grandparents mean when they say they felt like they changed in just a week since they last saw them.

Ok, enough about my ramblings.... meet baby O. I was lucky enough to have him and his parents into my home for an indoor session. He was such a happy baby and the most on the go six month year old I've ever met. He didn't just want to show me how he could sit, he wanted to show me how he can crawl around and stand up holding on to things. I enjoyed getting to play with him and letting him show me his new moves during our session.

Now the smiles come out (Central Iowa photographer)

Remember this beautiful baby girl on my blog from a couple of weeks ago? I wanted to share some additional photos of her that I consider "wall-worthy" photos. While I love action/environmental shots, I always aim to capture a few images where the big, beautiful child eyes stare deeply back at you. I love these types of photos and deem them "wall-worthy" when choosing those few images that a family would hang large on their walls within their home.

Enjoy the additional photos of one-year old Baby L.
