My dear friend - Central Iowa family photographer

Meet my dear friend Dina and her family. While just meeting only a few years ago, she has quickly become one of my closest friend that I can share my successes with, my fears, my frustrations, my daily nothings, etc. She is one of the types of people that we can go on a walk for miles and still not be enough time for all our catching up and talking that we have to do.

This past weekend she pulled out her “Martha Stewartness” and had my family over for homemade waffles, good conversation and play time. Also in the craziness mix of having 4 young girls running around and breakfast cooking, we captured these beautiful family photos for their holiday cards and displaying in their home. Enjoy!

Family of five! - Central Iowa child photographer

This beautiful family of five had me capture their Christmas photo for them for the second year. We did the session in front the same fireplace where their session took place last year. I imagine it will be fun for them to compare the difference a whole year can make. With having twins just over the age of one and a big brother less than two years older, getting out, especially for photos, can be challenging. Like many of my clients, I go to them and do the session at their home to make it more convenient and relaxing for everyone in the family.

Our nephew Jackson - Central Iowa child photographer

You saw this adorable boy and his head full of jet black, thick hair here with the rest of the kids clan on one side of my family. But since I don’t get to see him much since he lives in Arizona, I took this opportunity to snap individual photos of him for his nine month session. He loved the camera and was a great little model for me.

A boy and his football - Central Iowa child photographer

Baby R’s parents are starting him young. Throwing him a football themed first birthday party, watching Iowa football games with him and playing football together are all the right steps to making a future number one Iowa Hawkeyes football fan. While I’m an Iowa State Cyclone fan, there is no denying this future Hawkeye is super adorable and fun to chase around with my camera to catch his monumental stage of turning one.

Serious cuteness! - Central Iowa Kids Photographer

These two adorable little girls were so cute and kept me smiling throughout our time together. They gave me a glimpse into what it will be like to have two little girls who are not a toddler and baby. We started our photo session inside at my home and then headed outdoors. Remember that beautiful, warm fall weekend a week or so go? Their shoot was this weekend. I could have stayed outdoors all day long taking pictures of these cuties. The weather was wonderful and these girls were fun to chase around with my camera. However, I’m sure they had better ways to spend their warm fall day outside. ;) Enjoy your sneak peak mom and dad of your beautiful baby girls.

Rusty the pup! - Central Iowa family photographer

I totally get the love for a dog and considering it a family member. I also totally get considering your dog to be your baby. Our Cavalier Kings Charles Spaniel pup, Duke, was my first baby with my husband. Now, five years and two kids later, he’s still a special part in our family but not so much treated like a baby now. J So I was excited when this couple wanted family photos with their “baby”… Rusty their dog. And really, dogs are no different than kids to photograph. I just have to do something silly to get the dogs attention like I do kids. However, I could not compete with the loud noises of motorcycles driving by. We had a great fall day for the session which apparently made a great day for everyone to get one last motorcycle ride in this fall.

Our crazy clan

I'm making myself go to bed early tonight so I'm justing posting one photo for you for now! This is of my girls and their cousins dressed in their annual holiday attire grandpa and grandma pick out each year. Wrangling this clan kept me on my toes. Kensington is such a mommy's girl she just wanted me to hold her ever time I put her down to set the photo up. The boys weren't into listening to aunt Debbie. I even had to pay two of them each a dollar just to smile for me.

But once we were done organizing this crazy clan, I was treated to the best red wine I think I've ever had. I can't remember the name of it right now but once I figure it out, I'll be sure to share it with my blog readers. You have to ship it in from the vineyard Napa Valley though. I'm going to have to figure out how I can get my hands on a few bottles for entertaining at my own house.

Well keep checking back often this week. I had three fun photo sessions this weekend that I'll be sure to provide sneak peaks of.

Good night!

Princess P - Central Iowa newborn photographer

Newborn baby girl P was such a joy to photograph. She was awake at first to check out who I was with a big’ol camera in front of her but then was fast asleep making my job easy. You might remember her mom, dad and big sis celebrating her arrival here. Enjoy this cutie pie’s first photosession.

So baby soft - Central Iowa newborn photographer

Meet baby V! She is such a doll and truly embraces the phrase ‘baby soft.' Her skin is such a beautiful powdery white that is so smooth and soft. And she has a calm, tender spirit to her. I look forward to seeing her again for her 3-month photo session. Enjoy your sneak peak mom and dad!
