Now booking for August

July is turning out to be my month of nothing but play time. I have two weekends at the lake scheduled... one with family and one with my best friends. Then we are heading to Florida for seven days on the beach.

I do have a few photo session spots available for July still, but I am starting to provide interested customers August dates. Want to catch that end of the summer feel to your photos? Want to cool off with a beach session? Wanting some updated photos to decorate your home?Psst... you could also get your Christmas card photo out of the way early.

Feel free to email me at debbie@dkaphotography.com if you are interested in booking a session yet this summer.

Newborn girl

Did you know we, humans, are only newborns for the first 28 days of our lives? Then we become infants. From having two newborns of my own, I know first hand how fast the first 28 days go and how fast they change. That's why with newborn photoshessions, it's best to take their photos within the first 2 weeks after birth...the sooner the better. Then you get to capture the stage when they are so fresh to our world.

Baby girl R is ten days old in her session here. She is so sweet and was such an easy baby.

This emotion here is something you can't fake for a photo. There is such a natural beauty that comes out when a girl becomes a mom. She's still feels like a little girl in many ways her self and will always be one to her parents. But now she is getting to experience all the wonderful and not so wonderful emotions of loving a child, her own child, with her whole heart. Bekah, you are such a beautiful mother. Congrats on your baby girl and this special time!

What baby doesn't look adorable embraced in her daddy's arms? Mike, I hope you enjoyed your first Father's Day of being a dad yourself.

And here are a few more of this cutie pie because I couldn't resist sharing.

Cutie Pie

This little guy is not only adorable but a tropper with a capital “T.” His session took place on one of the hottest days of the summer so far. Lucikly we started off early in the morning and got done before it was blazing hot. An hour later, we were all ready to hit the pool and cool off.

Also an hour later, we had played drums with sticks, rode a tricylce, sang songs and of course played peek-a-boo and tickle monster. We had a fun filled session to capture this little one for his second birthday. Enjoy your sneak peek mom & dad!

Belly 4 two

We had a great time with Erin and her family for her maternity session. My husband came along with me as a second shooter. I love having him along side me for sessions. Believe it or not, it’s a special bonding time for us because we are kid free and both doing something that we enjoy together. Plus he has a bit different style that complements mine and gets great shots like these first two.

After leaving Erin's house, all the exciting moments of being pregnant came rushing back to me… the pregnancy glow (she looks beautiful doesn’t she!?!), the naming game, the belly kicks, the nursery decoration fuss and most of all the anticipation of meeting a new baby and in Erin's case, two babies. Did I mention her belly is home to not one baby boy, but TWO! How exciting! Best off luck Erin these last few months. I can’t wait to meet your baby boys for their newborn session. Now on with more from the session. Enjoy!

We started off indoors...

then headed out doors...

This photo just melts my heart. They totally adore each other.

and finally made our way back indoors for an outfit change and some more shots.

Boy x 3

I really enjoyed hanging out with this family this past weekend. You could just see the respect the boys have for their parents, love for each other and fun they have together as a family. I have two girls so it was so fun to get to be around boys... it totally makes me want to have a baby boy someday.
