Belly to Baby - Central Iowa newborn photographer

Meet baby boy H. He's the one making his mom have the pregnancy glow and the reason we met up for a photo session in December. We had some fun with her maternity session for her Belly to Baby package and the kids really got into it!

Now meet baby boy H in his perfect beautiful newborn stage. He was a little fussy during his session and just wanted to be in his mommy's arms sleeping. But we managed to get him comfy and finally nice and sleepy. 

Keri and Troy's Wedding - Central Iowa Photographer

This past November I was honored to photography the wedding of Keri and Troy. Keri has such a sweet heart and really did an amazing job pulling together her wedding. The fall theme was carried out through the whole thing just beautifully. Here are just a few of my favorite images from the day. I especially love the last one of Keri dancing with her dad. She was a tear jerker moment of a little girl just falling into her daddy's arms wanting to be held tightly.

For Kayla...thanks for being patient as I finish up your baby's newborn session. Our family had a case of the stomach flu last week/weekend and I'm playing catch up now.

Addison and Austin

A couple of my own just for the fun of it. I love Addison long braids in this photo. It totally shows how long her hair is at this age. She's had long hair since day one so has always been good at letting me keep it up. She knows that if we don't take care of it each day, we'll have to cut her princess hair off like Daddy's. That gets her every time!

The second picture is of my cutie little nephew from Florida. Addison and Austin are only 3 days apart. It's just a bummer he lives in Florida and we live in Iowa. I know they would  be best buds if the saw each other more than twice a year.

Baby L - Central Iowa newborn photographer

One of the best parts of my job is meeting families who recently experienced the beauty of bringing a new life into this world. I love getting to hold and interact with the baby. There is such a special, joyful energy that takes place at these sessions that I can't help feel a bond with the mom and new baby.

Then the bummer part of my job happens when the session is complete and I've handed the CD of images over. I get kind of sad our time is over for now especially with families where I do their belly to baby session like this one. I first met this couple for their maternity session in October. Now, they've welcomed their adorable baby girl into their lives.

Ok, sorry for the gushy post tonight....maybe I'm finally starting to get the baby bug for myself again. ;) Now on with the photos of cute newborn Baby L...

Home for the holidays – Central Iowa family photographer

All three brothers and their families were home for the holidays with their parents. And I didn't travel for the holidays so I was able to capture them all together the day after Christmas. You could tell they all really enjoyed being together and getting to spend quality time with one another. I love this idea of capturing different aspects of extended family together. It’s not too often families take time to get quality family photos taken together once the kids get big and move out. I know I wish I had more pictures with my grandparents, parents, cousins, etc. that I could treasure forever.
